Milk

 

Kamala's household bought pasteurized milk from the local store where as Rajeswary's family had raw milk that they would purchase from their neighbour who had raised a cow.

 

 

Puttu 

 

Rajeswary says that puttu and shrimp fry is her favourite meal but Kamala does not mention eating this dish in India. Kamala also mentions eating uppma for breakfast but Rajeswary says she did not have that much growing up. Rajeswary also mentions eating Iddiyapam (string hopper), Appam, and Paal Kanchi, which Kamala does not mention either. It seems that there was more of a variety in Rajeswary's household growing up.
